Strategic Collaboration of ASECH Indonesia and MSCA Malaysia in Smart City Development

On September 20, 2024, a major milestone was reached in the smart city development efforts in the Southeast Asia region. ASECH Centre of the Smart Cities Indonesia and Malaysia Smart Cities Alliance (MSCA) officially signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) aimed at strengthening bilateral cooperation in the field of smart city development. This MoU is expected to be the foundation for various future collaborative initiatives that will accelerate urban transformation in both countries.

Collaboration Background

The collaboration is part of a broader effort by ASEAN to improve the quality of life for urban communities through the application of advanced technologies, data-driven governance, and sustainable infrastructure development. Signing of MoU

The MoU signing ceremony was held in Jakarta, where Ms. Erika, as the Founder and President Director of ASECH, and Datuk Ismail b. Jusoh, representing MSCA, signed the agreement. The signing was witnessed by Dr. Drs. Amran, MT, representing the Ministry of Home Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia. This momentum is an important symbol of the commitment of both countries in creating a better urban future through synergy between technology and urban governance.

The MoU opens the door to a range of collaborative programs between ASECH and MSCA, spanning the development of digital technologies for smart cities, leadership capacity building, urban resource management, and the provision of innovative technology solutions.
